Othel Earl Potter
Othel Earl Potter, 83, of Phil Campbell, passed away July 16 at Russellville Hospital. Born in Lawrence County, he was a resident of Franklin County for the past 70 years.
Retired from the State of Alabama, Mr. Potter was a member of New Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a Mason and a retired Franklin County constable.
Visitation for Mr. Potter will be July 18 at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, from 5-8 p.m. Services will follow July 19 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with son Merrell Potter officiating. Burial will be in East Franklin Cemetery, Phil Campbell. Pallbearers include Jeff Hutcheson, Jeremy Stowe, Jasper Copeland, Bradley Trapp, Dustin Pruitt, Brian Trapp, Derrick Scott and Jeff Copeland.
Mr. Potter is survived by his wife, Marguerite A. Potter; sons, Merrell Potter and wife Regenia and Terrell Potter and wife Debby; stepchildren, Brian Trapp and wife Gwenda, Valerie Copeland and husband Jeff and Miriam Trapp; and two sisters, Nadine Woodard and Sue Smith and husband Vernon. He is also survived by grandchildren April P. Holleman and husband Greg, Derrell Potter and wife Tracey and Cheryl P. Stowe and husband Jeremy; great-grandchildren Johnathan Morgan, Joshua Morgan, Ayla Stowe, Chloe Holleman, Aaron Stowe, Jacob Potter and Aidan Stowe; step-grandchildren Bradley Trapp, Jasper Copeland, Dustin Trapp, Kellie (Copeland) Hargett, Maria (Ward) Pruitt, Marguerite (Trapp) DeWeerd and Autumn Trapp; step-great-grandchildren Gianna Douglas, Will Douglas, Tasha Trapp, Drake Pruitt, Leah Copeland, Kazlyn Hammett, Misty Trapp and McKalya Jones; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding him in death were his first wife, Era Hutcheson Potter; parents, Chester J. and Elizabeth Potter; siblings, Lorene Jones and Teddie Potter; granddaughter, Misti Potter, and stepson, Bruce Trapp.
