Alvin Pharr

Alvin Pharr, 77, passed away July 12 at Helen Keller Hospital, Sheffield. He was born in Franklin County and was a heavy equipment operator in construction work. He was an avid Alabama football and NASCAR fan.
Services were held July 14 at 4:30 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay. Burial was in Single Springs Cemetery, Vina.
He is survived by three children – Jeffrey Pharr and wife Vondia of Red Bay, Donna Raper of Munford and Vicki Mitchell of Vina; four grandchildren – Christopher Davidson, Daphne Roberts, Amanda Mitchell and Andrew Mitchell; five great-grandchildren; and one brother – Justin Pharr.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Lynn Pharr; his parents, Joe Pharr and Clementine Scott Pharr; two brothers, Billy Joe Pharr and Milford Pharr; and four sisters, Delilah Emerson, Bonnie Davis, Wilbie Turbyfill and Linda McCarley.
Pallbearers were Stevie Sims, Chase Pharr, Andrew Mitchell, Andy Roberts, Jared Baxter and Casey Lee Roberts.
Visitation was held July 14 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.
