Rebecca Raper Orrick

Rebecca Raper Orrick, 67, passed away March 8 at her residence. She was born in Belmont, Miss., and was a factory worker and homemaker. She was a member of Red Bay Freewill Baptist Church, where she helped with many functions of the church.

Services were March 10 at 2 p.m. at Red Bay Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Robert Wood officiating. Burial was in Old Line Cemetery, Hodges.

She is survived by her husband, Philip Orrick, Red Bay; two sons, Brent Raper and wife Penny, Belmont, Miss., and Barry Raper and wife Amanda, Ashland City, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren, Haley, Alyson, Hannah, Tre, Emma, Caroline, Elijah, Tracy, Rodney, Erica, Randy and Zack; three sisters, Carolyn Gober and husband Felton, Muscle Shoals, Nancy Edwards, Dorsey, Miss., and Jean Wood, Gadsden; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Raper; a daughter, Mechelle Ann Raper; her parents, Orville and Ruth Wood; and a brother, Paul Wood.

Pallbearers were Steve Bostick, Jimmy Tate, Jimmy Harris, Wade Barksdale, Mike Jones and Robert Newell.

Visitation was March 9 from 6-9 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, and she laid in state March 10 from noon to 2 p.m. at the church.
