Margie Evelyn Moran McCulloch
Margie Evelyn Moran McCulloch, age 90, Russellville, passed away March 13 at Russellville Hospital.
Margie possessed a strong resilience and silent strength that was admired by her neighbors, friends and family while being a model of self-sacrifice so that others around her might have more. The valedictorian of her graduating class, she offered a stoic wisdom appreciated by those who loved her. She lived through the Great Depression and WWII, having lost her father at a very young age, existing as a part of what Tom Brokaw called “The Greatest Generation.” Margie was extremely proud of the legacy she had fostered in three wonderful children, seven successful grandchildren and seven beautiful great-grandchildren. Those who knew her know that when she loved, she loved with all her heart, and when she helped, she did so with all her strength. Most people go through life wondering if they made a difference in the lives of the people who surrounded them – Margie didn’t have that problem.
The visitation will be 11 a.m. to noon March 16 at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the funeral following at noon in the chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Gerald Hammock and Bro. Jack Flowers. Burial will be at Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Moran; mother, Elizabeth Willis Moran Thornton; brother, William Moran; and sister, Julia Moore.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Ron McCulloch and wife Brenda, Elaine M. Calloway and husband James and Deborah S. Hammock and husband Gerald; grandchildren, Greg Manley and wife Sally, Kelley Corson, Pat McCulloch and wife Brandy, Matthew Manley and wife Brandy, Colby Hammock, Donna Witty and husband David and Kim Stovall; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Mary W. Hester and husband Clanton; and several nieces and nephews.
The pallbearers will be her grandsons and friends.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of Russellville Health Care, Russellville ICU, Dr. Keith Morrow and Dr. Chaney for the love and care of our mother and grandmother.
