Vina routs Waterloo

The Vina Red Devils (1-2) defeated the Waterloo Cougars 11-1 thanks to a strong start in recent baseball action.
The Red Devils secured the win thanks to nine runs in the first inning. Vina scored on an error, a stolen base by Blake Hardin, a single by James Barnes, another error, a walk by Austin Childers and a walk by Andrew Upton.
Hardin, Childers, Barnes, Justin Gravitt, Tyler Renfrow, and Jacob Lewis each collected one hit to lead the Red Devils.
Hatton 10, Vina 0
The Vina Red Devils fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 10-0 loss to the Hatton Hornets Feb. 27. Hatton scored on a home run, a Vina error, a walk and three more Red Devil errors in the first inning.
Vina lost despite out-hitting Hatton six to three. Justin Gravitt went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Vina.
