Melba S. Pounders
Mrs. Melba Sue Pounders, 82, Spruce Pine, passed away March 3 at the residence of Randy and Lynda Pounders.
She lived most of her life in Franklin County and was a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and also supported her late husband Marce G. Pounders, a retired bi-vocational pastor serving at Mt. Hebron, Gravel Hill, South Haleyville and Spruce Pine Baptist Churches.
The family received friends March 5 from 1-3 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville. Funeral service was at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Scott Delashaw, Ricky Pounders and Jerome Sherrill officiating. Burial followed in Franklin Memory Gardens.
Survivors include children, Randy and wife Lynda Pounders, Ricky and wife Jayne Pounders and Michelle and husband Jon Coker; brother, Lloyd Pennington; grandchildren, Justin, Jason and Anna Grace Pounders, Emily Graham, Leighann and Katelyn Pounders and Julie and Abby Coker; great-grandchildren, Claire and Sophie Pounders and Vivian and Genevieve Pounders.
She was preceded in death by parents, Clancy and Evie Pennington, and brother, Lois Pennington.
