Community invited to reception for new county superintendent

Vina’s Greg Hamilton has officially stepped into his new role as Franklin County superintendent.

New Franklin County Board of Education Superintendent Greg Hamilton was sworn in Dec. 30 and has already taken on his first school board meeting, Jan. 10. But as Hamilton continues to settle into his new role, the community is invited to a reception in his honor.

A reception honoring Hamilton will be held Jan. 15 from 2-3 p.m. at the Franklin County Board of Education, 500 Coffee Ave., in Russellville. All are invited.

Following his Oath of Office ceremony, Hamilton said he was eager to get to work, ready to start immediately on financial evaluation and needed personnel moves.

“I’ll do the very best I can for every kid in this county,” Hamilton said. “I’m excited for the opportunity. I hold this office as a high honor.”
