Evelyn Berryman Bassham

Evelyn Berryman Bassham, age 83, of Russellville, passed away April 17. Visitation will be April 20 from 5-8 p.m. with the 2 p.m. funeral in the in the chapel April 21 and with interment to follow in Florence City Cemetery. Brother Jim Lumpkin and Brother Nick McSpadden will be officiating.

Mrs. Bassham was born in Florence. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ethel Benefield Cassel; brothers Willie, WT and JD Cassel; sisters Ida Lemley and Mable Rome; son Herbert “Odell” Berryman; and great-grandson Blake Bozeman.

She is survived by husband Lonnie Bassham; sons Geary Wayne “Buddy” and wife Charlene Berryman and Billy and wife Vickie Berryman; daughters Mildred and husband Larry McCrory and Barbara and husband Gary Cummings. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons O’Neal and Donald Berryman, Brett and Brian Hall, Shane and Derek McCrory, Chris Mitchell, and Dewayne Cox.

She was a member of Grace Baptist and retired from Oak Crest Nursing Home where she enjoyed caring for others. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Russellville Health Care for the care given to their dear loved one.
