Red Devils start strong

The Vina Red Devils got their season off to a good start, notching four wins last week.

The Red Devils pummeled Phillips twice. In the first game Vina won 16-1. The winning pitcher was James Barnes. Blake Hester went 3-for-3 with five RBIs.

In the second game the Red Devils again defeated Phillips 16-1. The winning pitcher was Hayden Murray.  Austin Childers had a three-run double and a two-run single.

Vina shut out Brilliant twice last week, as well. In the first game Vina blanked Brilliant 12-0. The winning pitcher was Tyler Renfrow. He pitched five innings, allowing no hits and striking out nine. Vina scored ten runs in the first inning on seven hits. Hayden Murray went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

In game two Vina shut out Brilliant 10-0. The winning pitcher was Barnes. Barnes allowed one hit and struck out seven. Blake Hester went 3-for-3. Jonathan Sullivan went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Justin Gravitt had three RBIs. Andrew Upton had a walkoff double to win the game in the bottom of the sixth.
