Steven Griffus
Steven Griffus, 59, was born in Waukegan, Il. and peacefully passed from this life on August 24, 2015 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tn. He was surrounded by family, friends and clergy. He was currently employed at CHS, Brentwood, Tn. and held a B.S. from CarthageCollege and an MBA from Lake ForestCollege. He attended ThompsonsStationChurch and was active in church Bible Studies and served as a teacher, which he loved.
Services were Friday, August 28, at 3 p.m. at EbenezerBaptistChurch, Vina, Al. with Bro. Chuck Bailey and Bro. Duane Murray officiating. Burial was in EbenezerCemetery, Vina, Al. Deaton Funeral Home, RedBay, Al. was in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years – Carla Griffus, Thompsons Station, Tn.; one son – Andrew Griffus, 17 years of age, Thompsons Station, Tn.; his father and mother – J.W. Griffus and Cleo Griffus, Decatur, Al.; one sister – Barbara Baccus; brother-in-law – Bob Baccus, Braselton, Ga.; one uncle – Bill Griffus, Vina, Al.; one aunt – Birda Mae Gann, Golden, Ms. and numerous in-laws, relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Arlie Griffus, Hank Johnson, David Maxwell, Murvin Elrod, Danny Elrod and Nelson Elrod.
Visitation was Friday, August 28, 1-3 p.m. at EbenezerBaptistChurch, Vina, Al.
