Red Bay Lady Tigers

The Lady Tigers came up short against cross state rival Belmont Dec. 19.
The low score reflected the two teamís tough defensive battle in their first meeting of the 2014-2015 season.
Belmont took a nine point advantage in the first quarter and never gave up the lead, holding on to a 39-22 win.
Red Bay had only two baskets in the first quarter, and added only five points in the second to trail 18-9 at halftime.
Morgan Pierce, Darby Madden and Allie Kennedy scored Red Bayís first half points.
Pierce led off for Red Bay in the top of the third with a two point shot, but the Tigers only other point in the quarter came on a free throw from Katie Burks.
Burks also added a couple of foul shots to start the fourth, followed by a three-pointer from Hope Cook to leave Red Bay trailing 31-17 with only three minutes remaining in the game.
Cook and Madden tossed in the final five points for Red Bay.
Madden led Red Bay with seven, Hope Cook had six.
Red Bay will play in the Lauderdale County Christmas tournament on Dec. 26, and will start off 2015 with an area game against Sulligent on Jan. 2.
