Phil Campbell 45, Russellville 28

The Phil Campbell Lady Bobcats continued their undefeated season with a 45-28 win over the Russellville Golden Tigers on Monday.

Russellville had no answer for the Lady Bobcats’ Taylor Pace who has been a dominating presence inside so far this season. Pace led all scorers with 24 points.

Phil Campbell jumped out to an 11-4 first quarter lead. The Lady Golden Tigers made a late run in the second quarter outscoring the Bobcats 13-10 and cutting Phil Campbell’s lead to 21-17 at the half. The Lady Bobcat defense held the Lady Golden Tigers to just two points in the third quarter and led 31-19. Phil Campbell continued the pressure in the fourth quarter outscoring Russellville 14-6.

Others scoring for Phil Campbell were Vickie McAlister (8), Elizabeth Benford (6), Leah Gunderman (4), and Bethany Harris (3).

Russellville scorers were Ashley Dunston (8), Madison Hargett (6), Angela Woods (4), Abby Holcomb (3), Patricia Borden (2), and Michaela Smith (2).

 

Boys

Russellville 64, Phil Campbell 45

The Russellville Golden Tigers held off a Phil Campbell rally in the third quarter to take a 64-45 victory over their county rival.

The Golden Tigers jumped out to a 20-7 first quarter lead and held on from there. Russellville only outscored the Bobcats by two in each of the last three quarters but it was enough to get the win.

Three-point sharp shooter Tyler Willis led Russellville with six three pointers and 19 points. Austin Stidham added 10 points from inside the paint.

Others scoring for Russellville were Taylor Vincent (8), Joshua Seal (6), Kamar Baugh (6), Cedric Freeman (6), and Christian Foster (4).

Hayden Bell led Phil Campbell with 12 points. Hayden Copeland added 10 more for the Bobcats.

Others scoring were Peyton Thomas (7), Gage Roberson (6), Noah Williams (5), and Skyler Tackett (5).
