RMS volleyball plays in final tourney

The Russellville Middle School seventh grade volleyball team played their end of year tournament at Athens High School this past Saturday.

The tournament was made up of five teams from Athens, Muscle Shoals, Deshler, Lawrence County and Russellville.

Russellville played three games back to back at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. against Deshler, Muscle Shoals and Athens.

The Lady Tigers were on their game, winning each of these three games 2-0.

At 1:30, in the final match up of the day, Russellville met up with Lawrence County. Russellville wasn’t able to hold on to their winning streak, losing to Lawrence County, 0-2.

Russellville closed out the tournament with a second place finish, going 3-1 for the day.
