Stewart named to AlaHA board
Christine Stewart, FACHE, chief executive officer of Russellville Hospital in Russellville, was recently elected to the Alabama Hospital Association (AlaHA) Board of Trustees at the Association’s annual meeting. She will serve as a member at large.
“Christine is a strong leader for our Association with a keen insight into the issues facing hospitals today, particularly those serving rural parts of the state” said J. Michael Horsley, FACHE, president of the Alabama Hospital Association.
“We appreciate her commitment to the association and to her hospitals and the patients they serve.”
In addition to serving as CEO of Russellville Hospital, Stewart is currently the acting CEO of Northwest Medical Center in Winfield. She has nearly 40 years of health care management experience and has worked with hospitals in Alabama, Mississippi, Texas, and Louisiana.
Stewart is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, and she is currently vice chair of the North Alabama Regional Hospital Council. She has previously chaired the local hospital council and has served on numerous association committees. She is also an active Rotarian.
The Alabama Hospital Association, based in Montgomery, is a statewide trade organization that represents more than 100 hospitals and numerous other health care providers by offering membership services designed to enhance the provision of health care in Alabama.
