Robbery suspect arrested

A local man wanted by the Russellville Police Department in connection with an assault and robbery case turned himself in to authorities Thursday Night, officials said.

Raymond Qvo Perez, 21, 600 E. Franklin St., Russellville, was arrested on charges of second-degree robbery and second-degree theft of property, Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett said.

According to Hargett, Perez is accused of entering a residence in the 600 block of Franklin Street in Russellville about 1 a.m. on Feb. 21 and physically assaulting a man in the residence.

Hargett said the victim and Perez were acquaintances.

Police investigator Lt. Scotty Lowery said Perez also allegedly stole a .25 caliber handgun, an Apple IPAD, and $110 in cash from the victim during the assault.

Lowery said authorities were unable to locate Perez following the incident and launched a search.

Lowery said investigators received information Thursday that Perez was back in the area but when authorities went to his residence, he couldn’t be located.

Lowery said an hour after authorities left his home, Perez walked into the Russellville police station and turned himself in to authorities.

Perez is still in custody at the Franklin County Jail.
