Lady Tigers put up decisive win over Haleyville

The Lady Golden Tigers started their season off with a dominant performance over the Lady Lions of Haleyville High School on Monday night.

Playing their first game at home, the Lady Tigers scored early and often, leading the Lions 13-4 at the end of the first quarter and 28-8 at the half.

The Lady Tigers never looked back as they led the Lions from start to finish, leading by as much as 32 points in the third quarter and winning the game with a score of 49-19.

Ashley Dunstan lead all scorers with 20 points for the Lady Tigers followed by Jakori Suggs with nine points, senior Victoria Jackson with seven points and Megan Brockway with five points.

Also scoring for the Lady Tigers were Peyton Hester with four points, Abby Holcomb with two points and Angela Woods with two points.

Coach James Bostick had only praise for his team.

“We played as a team tonight and everyone contributed to this win. This was a team victory,” Bostick said.

“We are a young team with a lot to learn. We only have one senior player and it is great for us to start the season off with a win. We will continue to improve as a team as the season goes on.”

The Haleyville Lady Lions were lead by Tori Pedley with six points.

The Lady Golden Tigers take on Muscle Shoals in their next home game on Dec. 13 at 6 p.m.
