Donald G. Fike, 73, of Hickory Grove, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at UAB Hospital.

”Duck “ was born April 13, 1940 in Mt. Hope to Elton and Edna Fike. He was retired from Fruehauf and Nichols Aluminum after fifty-four years of work. The funeral services were Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Dotson and Randy Nichols officiating. Burial was at Hickory Grove Presbyterian Cemetery.

Mr. Fike is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-three years, Regina Fuller Fkie and his two loving daughters and four devoted sons, Kristie and Joel Sutton, Mt. Hope, Gina Fike, New York, N.Y., Ricky and Ruthie Fike, Mt. Hope, Scotty and Beverly Fike, Mt. Hope, Derek and Stephanie Allen, Mt. Hope, and Robin and Angie Fike, Hillsboro; three foster children, Tina Smith, Moulton, Tammy Smith, Russellville, and Greg McGill, Moulton; four sisters and one brother, Doris and Jerry Harrison, LeGrange, Faye and the late Frank Bumguart, LeGrange, Sue and Bobby Brooks, Moulton, Linda Sapp, Russellville, and Wendell Fike, Mt. Hope; thirteen grandchildren Leslie, Cassidy, Ricky, Mindy, Katy, Svannah, Jessy, Colton, Taylor, Gracie, Samuel, Brooklyn, and Jasmine; Seven great-grandchildren, Chloe, Graydon, John Lee, Paisley, Milly, Eli, and Gabbi; two step-grandchildren Jamie and Dustin.

The Pallbearers were Cassidy Sutton, Ricky Fike Jr., Colton Fike, Samuel Allen, Freddie Stephenson, Perry Bumguart, Ferlon Ethridge, Allen Gillespie, and Gary Hand. Honorary pallbearers were R.J. Dunn, Tab Garrison, Todd Garrison, Jerry Hopkins, Dalton Appleton, Connie Waldon, Cecil Ashley, and Hershell Heaps. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and his mother-in-law Minnie Fuller.
