Documentary on legendary music producer Rick Hall being shown in Red Bay on Oct. 17

RED BAY – The popular documentary “Muscle Shoals” has been receiving national attention since its official release and local residents will have an opportunity to see the documentary close to home this Thursday.
A free screening of “Muscle Shoals” will be held Thursday, Oct. 17, at 6 p.m. at the Red Bay High School Auditorium followed by a special dialogue session with legendary FAME recording studio owner Rick Hall, David Hood of the Swampers, and Rep. Johnny Mack Morrow.
The event is being held in conjunction with the traveling Smithsonian exhibit “The Way We Worked,” which will be set up at the Weatherford Centre and in other venues throughout the town until Oct. 25.
“We are so excited and honored to be hosting this special documentary and dialogue session with Rick Hall, David Hood and Rep. Morrow,” said Rosalyn Fabianke, who serves as the program director for the Smithsonian exhibit.
“This documentary tells the story of how Mr. Hall and several others worked in the music industry in Muscle Shoals and it ties in well to ‘The Way We Worked’ theme of the Smithsonian exhibit and our other exhibits in the town.
“We are honored that he and the others will be sharing this information with us.”
