J. W. Herron, 84, Russellville, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at his residence.
He was a native of Walker County, but had lived most of his life in Franklin County. He served in the Army and was a retired supervisor from U.S. Reduction Company. After leaving U.S. Reduction he owned and operated Secondary Aluminum Plant.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Survivors include children, Karen Rose, of Florence, Jeffrey W. Herron, of Stevenson, Va., David J. Herron, of Pascagoula, Miss., Stephen Herron, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Phillip Herron, of Tuscumbia; two sisters; five brothers; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Melba Herron; parents, Clarence and Murdice Herron.
