Mrs. Bobbie Jo DeVaney, 72, of Spruce Pine, passed away Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, peacefully at ECM Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends.
She was a native of Lawrence County, but had lived most of her life in Franklin County. She attended the Baptist church.
Funeral service will be Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, 2 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville with Jerome Sherrill officiating. Burial will follow in DeVaney Cemetery on Highway 122 in Spruce Pine.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband, Bud DeVaney, Spruce Pine; son, Billy DeVaney and wife, Sharon, of Elmore, Ala.; granddaughters, Michelle DeVaney Davis and husband, Blair, Tuscumbia, Bridgette DeVaney, Kandice DeVaney; cousin, Nicole Sumerel; brother, Dempsy Fleming; sisters, Melba Hill and Syble Hill; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Kelly Hill, Mike Hill, Max Fleming, Darryl Fleming, Michael Sumerel, Mike Prince, Wendell Fleming and Allen Newell.
She was preceded in death by parents, Wiley and Willie Fleming; brothers, Guy, Fennel and Ray Fleming.
