FEMA disaster center to close

The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Disaster Recovery Center located at the Russellville Rec Center on Ash Avenue will close on Saturday, June 18.

Franklin County Emergency Management Agency Director Roy Gober said anyone who had storm damage that has not reported it is urged to go to the DRC before June 18 and sign up for assistance.

Residents can also still call 1-800-621-3362 to receive FEMA assistance.

“Traffic has dropped a the Russellville Disaster Recovery Center, so it’s hard to justify keeping the doors open,” Gober said.

He added the Disaster Recovery Center in Hackleburg will remain open until July 9 is anyone needs to seek assistance at that location.
