“Love in Motion Tour” making stop in city

Area residents will be able to experience an event next Thursday that Divine Baptist Church student pastor Randy Ledford said will “help change the community.”

On March 10, the “Love in Motion Tour” will make a stop in Franklin County at the Russellville High School Auditorium. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and Ledford said it’s an event no one in the community should miss out on.

The purpose of the “Love in Motion Tour” is to motivate members of the community to reach out to those around them and make a difference.

According to the “Love in Motion Tour” website, in one day’s time over 2,700 people will choose to end their own lives; 5,700 people will die from AIDS; 840 million people will go to bed hungry; and 1 billion people will live on less than a dollar.

Ledford said this event would help people see the need many people right in their community have for love and support.

“The biggest message about this tour is to get out and serve others and really be the hands and feet in this community,” Ledford said.

“There are tremendous needs right here that need to be addressed that many people just overlook.”

The event will feature Dove Award winning artist and worship leader Seth Condrey; and Identification Tour speaker Cody Deese.

Ledford said he and Deese are good friends and he has been following his ministry for many years. When he found out about the “Love in Motion Tour,” he knew it was something he wanted his church to be a part of.

“We don’t give our students enough credit these days,” Ledford said. “There are students who are ready and willing to get out there and make a difference. We just have to show them how, and that’s what this event will do.”

Ledford said even though the event is geared toward students, everyone in the community is invited and encouraged to participate.

“There are things that will be taught that anyone could benefit from,” Ledford said.

“It’s just about recognizing needs and acting to help, which is something we should all do.”

Ledford said Divine Baptist Church has been raising funds for some time now in order to make this event a reality and anyone who wants to make a tax-deductible donation to support this event can contact Ledford at harvesttyme7@yahoo.com.
