One arrested following home break-in

A local man is in custody after a string of criminal activity led to his arrest early Wednesday morning.

Jock Bo Riley, 29, 270 Franklin 44, Russellville, was arrested for second-degree burglary and second-degree attempted robbery, Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett said.

According to Hargett, Riley is accused of entering an occupied residence on East Avenue in Russellville during the early morning hours Wednesday.

After Riley was confronted by the residents, he demanded money and made a gesture to suggest he was armed.

Hargett said Riley fled the scene a few moments later without obtaining any money or property from the residence.

Riley was caught several blocks from the scene of the incident by night shift officers and was later identified by the residents as the man who had entered their home demanding money, Hargett said.

Investigators said additional charges on Riley would be expected in an incident involving a stolen car that took place Tuesday.

According to officers, Riley was found in possession of 2002 Chevrolet Corvette that had been reported stolen from Florence several days earlier.

Investigators said Riley was turned over to the Florence Police Department and he retuned to Franklin County after posting bond.

Riley is currently being held in the Russellville City Jail pending a bond hearing.
