Alta Gertrude Petree
Alta Gertrude Petree, 94, of Red Bay, passed away Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011 at the Red Bay Hospital after a sudden illness. She was a homemaker and a member of Halltown United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Scott Lindsey officiating. Burial was in Halltown Cemetery in Vina, Ala.
She is survived by three sons, Trilles Petree and wife, Willodean, of Tremont, Miss., Homer Petree and wife, Ida, of Red Bay, Ala. and Dave Petree and wife, Pat, of Kenosha, Wis.; two daughters, Ruby Greene, of Tuscumbia, Ala. and Shirley Massey and husband, Howard, of Russellville, Ala.; eight grandchildren, Mike Petree, Dneise Petree Henson, Dwayne Petree, Heather Petree Darracott, Tobin Greene, Keith Massey, Kevin Massey and Kay Massey Greeson; 15 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; 3 step-granddaughters; and a host of special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orb Petree, her parents, Joseph and Maggie Holcomb; ten siblings; son-in-law, Blaine Greene; and two grandchildren, Randy Petree and Rochelle Lynn Petree.
Pallbearers were Mike Petree, Dwayne Petree, Tobin Greene, Keith Massey, Kevin Massey and Anthony Page.
