Red Devils hosting Cherokee

VINA — The Vina football team begins its quest for another playoff berth Friday against Cherokee.

The Red Devils will have a tough road navigating through Class 1A, Region 8, but a win against the Indians could be a big confidence booster heading into region play next week.

Cherokee finished last season with a 3-7 record and is a young and inexperienced team.

Friday’s game will be the first action the Red Devils have seen because they did not play in a fall jamboree game last week.

This is the seventh time these programs have met. Cherokee holds a 4-2 advantage in the series.
