Author writes to benefit grandkids

Franklin County book author Will Welton always imagined putting the stories he had heard from the older generations into books.
Twenty Western novels, two mystery stories and several short stories later, Welton hopes he is serving the older generations proudly.
Welton grew up in Oklahoma, where his background was rich with Native American heritage. He worked numerous jobs including farmer, cowboy, and foreman of a bridge gang, railroad employee and served as Command Sgt. Major in the U.S. Army.
Welton moved to Franklin County to be closer to his children, who came to work and raise their families in the area.
Welton is known best for his story telling abilities by word of mouth. His granddaughter convinced him to put his stories on paper and into a book.
Welton hopes to raise enough money from his book to give his grandchildren a college education.
Lulu Press Inc published Welton’s latest book, “Ai Machonnee” Wolf Man, in October. In the future, Welton hopes to write stories on local topics.
Welton’s books may be found online and at a library near you.
