Frances G. Heaps

Frances G. Britnell Heaps, 74, of Phil Campbell, Ala., passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at Terrace Manor Nursing Home.
She was born in Franklin County on Aug. 10, 1935, to Wallace and Ira Fisher Britnell.
The visitation was Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, at Akins Funeral Home. The funeral service was at the funeral home chapel on Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, with Bro. Tony Gasaway officiating. Interment was in Tharptown Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Kerry Gasque, Brandon Gasque, Shannon Bishop, Wesley Bishop, Brian Kutzley and Wayne Garrison.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Ira Fisher Britnell; brother, Tommy Britnell; sister, Martha Trapp.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Wesley Heaps; daughters, Deborah Heaps Bishop and husband, William, Janice Heaps Sibley and husband, Tim; brother, Johnny Britnell and wife, Joyce; 10 grandchildren, Kevin Gasque, Shannon Bishop and wife, Leti, Brandon Gasque and wife, Heather, Emily Kutzley and husband, Brian, Kerry Gasque and wife, Lydia, Wesley Bishop and wife, Brooke, Jessica Culpepper and husband, Jacob, Sarah Gasque, Emily Bevan and husband, Kyle, Megan Winkles and husband, Jason; 8 great grandchildren, Natalie Bishop, Sean Bishop, Hunter Kutzley, Logan Gasque, Cayden Bevan, Kyleigh Bevan, Brayden Winkles and Abigail Gasque.
She was a member of Bethsaida Missionary Baptist Church.
Rachel Motes Ergle

Rachel Motes Ergle, 81, of Phil Campbell, Ala., passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born in Franklin County on Tuesday, March 6, 1928, to Richard Motes and Ada Heath Motes.
The visitation was Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at Akins Funeral Home. The 2 p.m. funeral service will be held at Blue Springs Freewill Baptist Church on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, with Bro. John McCullar officiating. She will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Blue Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gary Greenhill, Jason Greenhill, Marty Greenhill, Grant Greenhill, Chad Ergle, David Fox, Matt Wollenzien and Derek Baker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Ergle; parents, Richard and Ada Motes; siblings, Zinnie Dye and Foy Motes; grandson, and Jeremy Greenhill.
She is survived by her children, Leon Ergle and wife Myrl, Voncile Ergle, both of Phil Campbell, Brenda Greenhill and husband, Donald, of Decatur, Phillip Ergle and wife, Melinda of Dellrose, Tenn., Doris Pratt and husband, Harry, of Phil Campbell; siblings, Lula Weeks, Eula Smith, Dallas Bailey, David Motes and wife, Mary Jo, Verda Hood and husband, Lester, Mildred Matthews, Opal Smith, and Maudry Newell; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Blue Springs Freewill Baptist Church.
The family extends their gratitude to her nephew and his wife, Resa and Kay Ergle.
