Franklin County law enforcement officials are searching for an inmate who escaped from custody early Thursday morning while working on the litter crew.
Franklin County Sheriff Larry Plott said Miguel Garcia, 26, of 704 Gaines Street in Russellville, fled on foot around 8:30 a.m. Thursday in the Horseshoe Bend area.
Plott said the county utilized numerous resources trying to locate Garcia on Thursday.
Plott said a hunter spotted Garcia around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, and he had already found other clothing. The hunter said he was wearing a white tank top and white shorts that were about knee length.
Those calls can be made to 332-8820.
Plott said Garcia has been in the jail since July on burglary and theft charges.
Plott said Garcia is a Hispanic male with a height of about five foot six inches tall and has black hair with brown eyes. His approximate weight is 145 pounds. If anyone has seen him or knows where he is, they should call 332-8820 immediately and give the information to the call center.
