Red Bay promotes two police officers

RED BAY – The Red Bay City Council promoted two police officers Monday night during the regular council meeting.
The council promoted Sgt. Scottie Belue to the rank of lieutenant, and Officer Rodney Belue to the rank of sergeant.
Lt. Belue has been with the department for 11 years. During his time with the department, Lt. Belue has served many rolls from firearms instructor to officer training coordinator and patrol sergeant. He is also the deputy commander for the multi-jurisdictional Franklin County Special Response Team.
Sgt. Belue joined the department in 2007 after working for the Franklin County Sheriff's Department for a few years. Sgt. Belue took the position in Red Bay to serve the community in which he lives.
In other business, the council voted to:
Mayor Bobby Forsythe announced that the sewer bids will be open on Oct. 22, 2009, and asked anyone with the proper requirement to bid on the pavilion to be built beside the fun park. For speculations, contact city hall.
The next regular council meeting will be held on Monday, Nov. 2, 2009.
