Gola Fay Smith, 76, of Decatur, Ala., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009 at her residence. She was born Aug. 1, 1933 in Red Bay to Purvie Ottis and Audie Blanton Hamm. She was a homemaker, seamstress and member of Berea Baptist Church in Athens, Ala.
Funeral services were held Oct. 19, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Pat Lawrence officiating. Burial was in Ridge Cemetery in Golden, Miss.
She is survived by one daughter, Charlotte Treadway and husband, Gene, of Athens; one son, Carlton Smith and wife, Wanda, of Winthrop Harbor, Ill.; two sister, Maxine Jarnigan and Sue Holley and husband, Hollis, all of Decatur; two brothers, A.C. Hamm and wife, Opal, of Decatur and Oscar Hamm and wife, Willodean, of Red Bay; five grandsons, Keith Smith and wife, Alice, Joseph Smith and wife, Andrea, Michael Smith, Jonathan Smith and wife, Sarah, and Jeffrey Treadway and wife, Kristin; nine great-grandchildren, Ethan, Chase, Rowan, Nora, Hailey, Bryan, Samuel, Logan and Ashtin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Smith; her parents; and one brother, Ottis Hamm.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Jeffrey Treadway, Keith Smith, Michael Smith, Joe Smith and Jon Smith.

James "J.C." Kelley, 64, of Haleyville, Ala. passed away Oct. 15, 2009.
Funeral services were held Oct. 18, 2009 at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Haleyville. Burial was at Winston Memorial Cemetery.

Sue Ella Pierce Adams, 81, of Russellville, passed away Monday, October 19, 2009 at Helen Keller Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Coy Morgan officiating. Interment will be in Shady Grove Cemetery in Phil Campbell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Adams; parents, Elmer and Effie Fleming Pierce; and brother, Bryce Pierce.
She is survived by her grandchild, Brian Penington; brothers, Bobby Pierce and wife, Janie, of Russellville, Wesley Pierce and wife, Jane, of Russellville; sister-in-law, Nell Pierce, of Hamilton; sisters, Earline Johnson, of Athens, Emmer Hines, Letha McKinney and husband, William, Sandra Jones and husband, Hal, all of Russellville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Leonard Glenn Mossor

Leonard "Len" Glenn Mossor, 69, of Box Springs, Ga., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 17, 2009.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Edgewood Baptist Church with Rev. David Howle and Rev. Andy Meritt officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road, Columbus, Ga.
Visitation was Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside service will be Thursday, October 22, 2009, 1 p.m. in Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Russellville with Rev. Roger Martin officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the graveside service at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
Mr. Mossor was born February 6, 1940 in Ritchie County, West Virginia son of the late Mae Elizabeth and James Mossor.
He moved to Columbus, Ga., in 1962 after attending the University of Pittsburg in Pennsylvania where he played football for three years. Mr. Mossor was a U.S. Army Veteran serving as a Military Policeman at Ft. Benning, Ga. After his duty in the Army ended, he finished his education at Auburn University where he received his B.S., Masters and Six Year Specialty degree in Education.
Mr. Mossor worked for the Muscogee County School District for 34 years as a coach, history teacher, principal and the Administrator of Property and Records. He retired in 2001.
Mr. Mossor had many hobbies, but he especially loved playing golf with his wife and friends. He was an active member of Edgewood Baptist Church in Columbus, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Patsy Mossor; mother-in-law, Virginia Lawler, Russellville; god-daughter, Mary Jo Harrell and husband, George; god-son, Leonard "Stoney" Harrell, all of Virginia Beach, Virginia; sisters-in-law, Roena Mossor, Harrisville, West Virginia, Marge Mossor, Tucson, Arizona, Shirley Mossor, Union, West Virginia, Lorraine Mossor, Parkersburg, West Virginia, Wanda Martin and husband, Paul, Collierville, Tennessee, Joyce West, Hamilton, Alabama, Jeanette Cooper, Leatrice Horton, both of Russellville, Alabama; special cousin, Mary Ellen Beall and husband, Bernard, Harrisville, West Virginia; many, many precious nieces and nephews; loving mentor and longtime friend, Oscar Boyles and many, many other caring friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or the Ronald McDonald House, 1959 Hamilton Road, Columbus, Georgia 31904-8924.

Elsie Ruth Wiley, 85, Russellville, Alabama passed away Monday, October 19, 2009 at her residence.
Mrs. Wiley was a native of Morgan County and moved to Franklin County in 1957. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Russellville. Mrs. Wiley was a telephone operator for South Central Bell and later began her own nursery school for 15 years in her Russellville home.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 21, 2009, 1 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville with Barry Holcomb officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memory Gardens. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
She was preceded in death by husband, Hal Wiley; parents, Pete and Lottie Thomason; sister, Margaret Barkley.
Mrs. Wiley is survived by son, Hal Scott Wiley and wife Susan, Huntsville; daughter, Patti Jo Kimbrough and husband, Jerry Glen, Russellville; brother, Lewis Thomason; six grandchildren, Hal Thomason Wiley, John Mason Wiley, Sarah Marie Gibbs and husband, Jeff; Tuan Nyugen, John David Kimbrough and wife, Lesley, Jennifer Ruth Kimbrough.
