BELGREEN – The Belgreen Alumni Association is hosting a pancake breakfast Saturday, Feb. 28 from 7 to 10 a.m. at the Belgreen Cafeteria.
President Terry Dempsey said the association hosts the breakfast every year to raise money for the two scholarships awarded to Belgreen students each May.
"We give two $500 scholarships to Belgreen students each year," Dempsey said. "One scholarship is awarded to a female and another to a male."
The cost of the pancake breakfast is $6 for adults and $3 for children.
In addition, the association purchases items for the school such as equipment if there is enough money generated after the scholarships are awarded.
The association will have their annual alumni banquet on April 11 at the Belgreen Cafeteria. There will be more information on this event as it draws closer.
"We are also working on a memorial wall project for the Belgreen School," Dempsey said. "Over the last year, we've made a lot of progress on the memorial wall and we think we're ready to start the project."
Dempsey said there has not been a timetable determined on the memorial wall, but the project has been in the works by the association for a while.
