RHS golf falls to Curry

By Staff
Submitted to the FCT
Playing Monday at historic Musgrove Country Club in Jasper, a course unfamiliar to almost all of the Golden Tigers, the RHS golf team came up short in their match against Curry.
The Russellville Black squad shot 169 and came in second to the 154 shot by the Curry Blue team. The RHS Gold squad shot 208.
For RHS Black, Brett Fish led the way with 38 followed by John Seal at 41 and Brian Brown at 43.
Andrew Freeman shot a sizzling 33 for Curry Blue to win medalist honors.
Taylor Reeps scored 50 to lead the Russellville Gold squad.
"Our sectional tournament will be at Musgrove Country Club this year, so it was good to be able to play it," Russellville coach Phil Phillips said. "John Seal is the only one of us to have played it before today. That was in John's first year to play golf at RHS, which was a long time ago.
"But we'll probably play it one more time before the sectional and today's match should really help us come tournament time."
