Decatur woman jailed for theft

A Morgan County woman was arrested by the Russellville Police Department Thursday for allegedly stealing money from a local apartment complex.
Amy Michelle Gargis, 33, of 130 Price Mt. Road in Decatur, was charged with first-degree theft of property after allegedly taking $14,000 from an apartment complex where she was employed, Police Chief Chris Hargett said.
"Ms. Gargis is accused of taking money from rental deposits and rental payments while she was the manager of the complex," Hargett said.
Captain David Hester was the investigator in the case and there will likely be another arrest in the case, Hargett said.
Gargis is being held in the Russellville City Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
