Pizza sales to fund band trip

The Russellville High School Band hosted a pizza buffet fundraiser last night.
Five Star Pizza teamed up with the band to help bring a great deal to pizza customers, and to raise money for the band's upcoming trip to Orlando in May.
"Five Star gave us a great opportunity to bring this to the public at a great price," Assistant Band Director Gary McNutt said.
Each band member sold tickets at $5 each.
The $5 donation included all you can eat pizza, salad and a drink.
"Each student was asked to sale tickets for the event," Five Star Manager Tim Sage said.
Each student's sales will help fund their portion of the trip to Orlando, Sage added.
The band will travel to Florida in early May to compete in a marching parade competition held at Universal Studios in Orlando.
The jazz band will also compete during the trip, McNutt said.
Lisa Tompkins was recognized as the top ticket seller for the event. She managed to sell 41 pizza tickets.
