Pauline L. McNutt

Pauline L. McNutt, age 87, of Haleyville, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2007, at Grand Strand Health Care in Socastee, SC.
Mrs. McNutt was born May 28, 1919, in Winston County. She was the daughter of Jasper and Jane Lovett. She was a homemaker and was employed for many years by Haleyville Textile. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver McNutt; a daughter, Patsy McNutt Barrineau; and her parents.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Haleyville. Interment was in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. McNutt is survived by two sisters, Earlene Fowler of Florence and May Jean McDavid of Chicago; two grandchildren, Patti Barrineau Jackson of Conway, SC, and Trey Barrineau of Centreville, VA; and one great-grandchild, Caitlyn Rose Jackson.

Pauline Roden

Pauline Roden, age 93, of Bear Creek, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2007, at Rose Manor.
She was a member of Bear Creek No. 1 Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Roden; her parents, Gordon and Kansas Johnson; five brothers, Buck, Loyd, Leo, Ford and Drennard Johnson; and four sisters, Nedilee King, Lois Vickery, Lucille Millsap and Myrt Cobb.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with James Bishop and George Jones officiating. Interment was in Bear Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Roden is survived by two children, Belan Roden and Libby Veal; a sister, Tootsie Bradford; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Gladys Jewell Underwood

Gladys Jewell Underwood, age 78, of Spruce Pine, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at Russellville Hospital.
Mrs. Underwood was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and a member of the Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel with Eugene Britnell officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Underwood is survived by her husband, A.J. Underwood; a son, Elliott Underwood and wife Linda, of Spruce Pine; a brother, Leon Elliott of Tuscumbia; four sisters, Hattie Mae Hagan of Phil Campbell, Jean Glass and husband Ruel, of Decatur, Francis Miskelly of Sheffield, and Becky Troxtell and husband Marvin, of Gurly; a grandson, Greg Underwood and wife Sheila, of Russellville; a great-granddaughter, Kelbi Underwood of Russellville; and several nieces and nephews.

Anni Jo Swinney

Anni Jo Swinney, age 57, of Haleyville, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at Huntsville Hospital.
Mrs. Swinney was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. She was a school bus driver for the Haleyville School System. She was preceded in death by her parents, W.L. "Bill" and Othel Turner; and a brother, Tommy Turner.
Funeral services were held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Bobby Joe Poss and John Simmons officiating. Interment was in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Swinney is survived by her husband, Buice Swinney; two daughters, Kelley Cain of Haleyville and Tara McAdams of Haleyville; three grandchildren, Anna Cain, Erin Cain and Molly Cain; and a host of other relatives and friends.
