The grand jury indicted Joshua Todd Tunell, 28, 501 E. Lauderdale Ave., Russellville, on attempted murder charges.
Tunell allegedly attacked an elderly woman during a home invasion that took place in November.
In addition to the attempted murder charge, Tunell is also facing first-degree theft of property, first-degree robbery, and first-degree burglary. The theft charge is a Class B felony, which is punishable with two to 20 years in prison. The other charges are Class A felonies, which is punishable by 10 years to life in prison.
Tunell is accused of forcing his way into the home of 77-year-old Pauline White, who resides on Gaines Ave.
Authorities said he assaulted the woman, took money from her purse, and then left in her car. Tunell was arrested at a West Memphis, Ark. truck stop a few days after the attack.
Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett said that White has not completely recovered from her injuries.
