Minnie Criddle

Minnie Vic Gann Criddle, age 98, of Tupelo, passed away Monday, January 29, 2007, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a long illness.
She was born August 22, 1908, to William Franklin and Victoria Finn Gann. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Okolona, where she kept the nursery for 17 years, but never forgot her home church, Macedonia Methodist Church. She was a homemaker who enjoyed flowers and children. She was affectionately called Granny. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Elbert Criddle; three sons, William, Wayne and James Criddle; four brothers, Reuben, Howard, John Henry and Bilbo Gann; four sisters, Mae Nabors, Addie Lou New, Lindy B. Gann and an infant sister; a grandson, Dennis Clay, and an infant grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church in Okolona with Bro. Bryan Scarbrough and Bro. Frank Miller officiating. Interment will be in Macedonia Methodist Church Cemetery near Houston.
Mrs. Criddle is survived by two daughters, Mary Jo Criddle of Okolona, and Shirley Clay and husband Frankie, of Russellville; her daughter-in-law, Ellen Criddle of Okolona; ten grandchildren, Ricky, Frankie, Bo and Michael Clay, Bill, Aaron, David and Johnny Criddle, Shelia Barnett and Teresa Criddle; ten great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
William Harold Dill, Sr.

William Harold Dill, Sr., age 59, of Belgreen, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2007.
Harold was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a recipient of the Purple Heart w/Oak Leaf Cluster, Vietnam Service Medal w/ 4 Bronze Service Stars, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert M-60 M, Expert Pistol, and Sharpshooter Rifle M-14. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Dill and Margaret Bell Dill.
Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2007, at Belgreen Cemetery with Gene Graham officiating.
Mr. Dill is survived by his wife, Linda Bates Dill; three children, William Harold Dill, Jr. of Belgreen, Michelle Poston and husband Blake, of Genesco, IL, and Michael Shane Dill of Belgreen; a brother, Ricky Dill; a sister, Linda Graham; four grandchildren, Blake Poston, River Poston, Scarlette Poston and Angelia Sanderson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Voil D. Guinn

Voil D. Guinn, age 87, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2007, at Red Bay Hospital.
Mr. Guinn was born July 13, 1919, in Franklin County to Miner and Fronie Petree Guinn. He also worked at the Bill Scott Grocery Store and the Townhill Truck Stop. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Troy Guinn and O.C. Guinn.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2007, at Deaton Funeral Home in Red Bay with Bro. Dan Hindman officiating. Interment was in Dempsey Cemetery.
Mr. Guinn is survived by three brothers, Gillie Guinn and wife Zula Mae and Orvil Guinn, both of Russellville, and Foy Guinn and wife Faye Hindman Guinn, of Hodges.
