By Staff

Red Bay's girls used a stout defensive effort in the fourth quarter on Tuesday to remain unbeaten in January, rallying past No. 7 Mars Hill for a 38-35 win.
The Lady Tigers (15-7 overall, 4-1 in Class 2A, Area 16) improved to 5-0 in 2007 and kept alive their hopes of hosting the area tournament.
If Red Bay wins its lone remaining area game against Cherokee, the Lady Tigers will tie Mars Hill (18-8, 5-1) for first place in the area and a coin flip will decide who hosts the tournament.

Brittany Scott had 14 points to lead the Lady Tigers, and Chelsey McWilliams added eight.
