Speed limit on 43 may increase

Motorists along Highway 43 may soon notice their commute getting shorter.
The Russellville City Council voted Monday night to increase the speed limit from Hester Heights to the Russellville Market place from 45 miles per hour to 55 miles per hour.
The state still has to sign off on the plans before they can be implemented.
Should the ordinance pass the state, the speed limit would drop back to 45 miles per hour through town on Highway 43 until the area near the Frosty Inn, where it will return to 55.
