Those who want to cast a ballot in next month's general election have less than 10 days to register to vote.
Oct. 27 is the cut off for unregistered voters to file their information with the Franklin County Board of Registrars.
Absentee ballots must be picked up by Nov. 2 and have to be turned in by Nov. 6.
Despite the fact that a hotly contested gubernatorial election is the big ticket on this year's ballot, registrar Ann Moore said she doesn't expect a big voter turnout.
"We just don't have a lot of people get out to vote any more it seems like," she said. "It doesn't seem to matter who's on the ballot or what they're running for."
Republican Bob Riley has a sizeable lead over Democratic challenger Lucy Baxley according to statewide phone and straw polls conducted in recent months.
Moore said smaller statewide under card elections like treasurer, public service commission and state Supreme Court seats seem to have attracted little voter attention.
