Austin Miles Cantrell

Austin Miles Cantrell, age 80, of Russellville, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2006, at his residence.
Mr. Cantrell lived most of his life in Franklin County and was a member of First Baptist Church in Russellville. He served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of the American Legion. He was retired from Ford Motor Company with 28 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Julia Cantrell; and two brothers, G.K. Cantrell and George Gaston Cantrell.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2006, at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville with Dr. Gene Balding, Johnny Richardson and Jackie Richardson officiating. Special music provided by Bert Fowler, Richard Parkker and Patti Kimbrough. Interment was in Franklin Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers were Danny Grissom, David Grissom, Rick Hall, Jimmy Cantrell, Nathan Buffaloe and Cory Buffaloe. Honorary bearers were members of Pritchard Sunday School class at First Baptist.
Mr. Cantrell is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rosa Lee Bolton Cantrell; a son, Gary Miles Cantrell of Russellville; a daughter, Debbie Cantrell Buffaloe and husband Larry, of Oxford; three brothers, Raymond Cantrell and wife Vela Mae, of Hodges, Mack Cantrell of Georgetown, KY, and Jim Cantrell and wife Susan, of Hodges; a sister, Ruby Taylor and husband H. Neil, of Russellville; two loving grandsons, Nathan and Cory Buffaloe, both of Oxford; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alabama Baptist Children's Homes and Family Ministries, 1130 Woodstock Avenue, Anniston, AL 36207.
Pinkard Funeral Home assisted the family.
