Labor 'Reserve' To Attention of State Board
Franklin County's growing "reserve" of available labor has been called to the attention of the Alabama Planning and Industrial Development Board in an effort to obtain employment for almost 1,000 persons now actively seeking work through the Alabama Employment Office here.
State headquarters of the latter has called this to the attention of the new State Industrial Board, it was learned this week.
Meanwhile, in a letter to Franklin Rep. W.E. Oden, L.B. Dickson, industrial representative of the State Industrial Board, said the group plans to survey Franklin County's industrial potential in the near future and set up a meeting with local people to get the ball rolling for an industrial program in Franklin County.
175 Hear Praise of Road Program
About 175 persons attended the annual get-together and appreciation event for employees of Alabama Highway Department at the Franklin County office in Russellville.
