Phil Campbell remains unbeaten in area play

Griffin Harris struck out 11 in five hitless innings on Monday as Phil Campbell clinched its second consecutive Class 2A, Area 16 championship with a 10-0 victory over Red Bay.
Kevin Lacey homered for the Bobcats (19-7, 7-0 area) and also pitched a hitless sixth inning, striking out two.
Phil Campbell will host a single game against the Area 12 runner-up in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs on April 25.
Steven Lacey finished with two hits, two runs and two RBIs on Monday, and Randy Cochran singled and scored three runs.
Adam Mitchell and Tate Canida each singled and scored, and Korey Pounders had one hit.
Harris scored a run, and Jonathan Dill had an RBI. Caleb Thompson scored a run and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.
The Bobcats broke a scoreless tie with four runs in the bottom of the second.
Phil Campbell was scheduled to play at Red Bay on Tuesday in the final area game for both teams.

Boys Tennis
Russellville 7 Cullman 2
The Golden Tigers improved to 9-2 on the season with Monday's home win.
Carson Hutchins, John Tyler Hardin, Tyler Malone, Jacob Hill and Anthony Turner each won singles matches in straight sets for Russellville.
Hutchins and Hill won at No. 2 doubles, and Turner and Malone won at No. 3.
Girls Tennis
Russellville 8 Cullman 1
Lindsay Cole, Jennifer Fennel, Olivia Turner, Grace Hagedorn and Calli Davis all won singles matches for Russellville (6-4) on Monday.
Cole and Shayna Glasgow won their match at No. 1 doubles, and Fennel and Davis won at No. 2 doubles. Hagedorn and Turner won at No. 3.
Russellville traveled to face Buckhorn on Tuesday and will host Red Bay today.
