**50th anniversary**
Virginia and Hubert Rivers will celebrate their 50th anniversary today. The couple's children and grandchildren hosted a celebration dinner in their honor on Saturday at The Landing Restaurant. Their family includes, Dusty Rivers and his wife, Betty, and their children, Todd, Stacey and Ashley; Beth Lewis and her husband, Mark, and their daughter, Ginny; Cindy Hatcher and her husband, Larry; Mike Rivers and his daughter, Jayden; and Amy White and her daughter, Kelsey. Mrs. Rivers is the former Virginia Combs. The couple attends St. Patrick Catholic Church.
**50th anniversary**
Kevin and Jean Barker will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a reception on Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. at Vardaman Baptist Church in Kemper County. They have five children, Mike Barker and his wife, Ruthie; Jimmy Barker and his wife, Sheila; Cliff Barker and his wife, Ginnie; Donna Jones and her husband, Keith; and Dawn Wells and her husband, Michael; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The reception is being hosted by their children and grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend.
