The owners of the Highway 45 Family Restaurant hope the eatery's new location will entice more people to give it a try.
Formerly named Lake Village Restaurant and located at Dalewood, owners Carolyn Barfield and Howard Conaway opened their new restaurant on Saturday.
Barfield and Conaway had been open in Dalewood for five years.
The new restaurant is at 9120 Old Highway 45 N. in Lauderdale, behind the Conoco Super Stop and in front of the Ralph Morgan Arena. And although the name and location have changed, the food remains the same.
Among the restaurant's new attractions are the hot food bar and the soup and salad bar.
On Fridays from 5 p.m.-9 p.m., the restaurant offers an all-you-can-eat buffet of whole or fillet catfish with fries, cole slaw, mild or spicy hush puppies and seafood gumbo over rice.
Also on the buffet are fried and boiled shrimp, crawfish tails, stuffed crabs and fried oysters. The price for the buffet is $10.99.
The speciality on Saturday is barbecue, including pulled pork, baked beans and potato salad. On Sunday, it's traditional lunch fare featuring your choice of two meats with several vegetables.
The menu also features popular hamburgers, sandwiches and a 12-ounce USDA choice rib eye steak dinner for $12.99.
Barfield said save room for dessert, which varies daily but can include homemade banana pudding, a variety of cakes and several pies such as pecan, lemon ice box and pineapple cream cheese.
