Our View – Homecomings have been a hit

By Staff
Tonight's football game between Russellville and Muscle Shoals at Tiger Stadium is homecoming for the Golden Tigers. Russellville is the last of our four football-playing high schools to celebrate homecoming (Belgreen will celebrate its homecoming during basketball season), and we wanted to take this opportunity to congratulate all of those students who have been honored thus far, as well as those who will be honored tonight at RHS.
Being selected to the homecoming court, or being selected as an escort, is a big honor and is worthy of many congratulations. We would also like to congratulate all of our 2004 Homecoming Queens.
A lot of hard work from a lot of different people goes into organizing homecoming festivities. There are decorations to be hung, parades to be planned, parties to be catered, dances to be chaperoned,…..the list goes on and on. These things don't get taken care of by themselves.
Many people, school personnel and citizens alike, invest time and effort into making sure that everything looks great and proceeds smoothly.
We would like to commend all those hard workers and thank them for their help in making this year's homecomings a success.
Memories have been made, and will be made, that will last a lifetime for students at each of our county schools.
Finally, we encourage the Russellville students who will be celebrating homecoming tonight to enjoy themselves to the fullest, but also to make wise decisions and exercise caution.
Thanks again to all who have helped organize the activities, and congratulations to all the winners.
