PREP ROUNDUP: Neshoba Central picks up first win of season

Neshoba Central outscored Canton 28-6 in the second half to pick up a 49-26 victory.
Jason Yarbrough scored on a nine-yard pass from Tyler McNeal in the first quarter for Neshoba Central and McNeal added a 56-yard touchdown run in the quarter.
Canton scored on a 30-yard pass from Desmond Rattliff to Richard Worth and also had a Rattliff scored on a one-yard run in the first quarter to make the score 14-12 after the first.
Rattliff added a two-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and Kevin Marshall scored for Neshoba Central on a 10-yard run to make the score 21-20 at half.
The Rockets scored on a 12-yard run by McNeal in the third quarter to stretch the lead to 27-20. Marshall scored on three touchdown runs in the fourth quarter. He scored on a two-yard run, a five-yard run and a six-yard run and Derek Crenshaw hit all three extra points for the Rockets.

Choctaw Central 12
Carthage jumped out to an early lead and held off Choctaw Central for a 28-12 victory.
Carthage scored on an 85-yard interception return by Josh Luckett in the first quarter and Joseph Atkinson hit the extra point to make the score 7-0. Choctaw Central answered with a 13-yard touchdown run by Daven Willis to make the score 7-6 after the first quarter.
Carthage scored on a Luckett 24-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter and Luckett added a 14-yard touchdown run to make the score 21-6 at half. Carthage scored on a 59-yard touchdown run by Luckett in the third quarter.
Choctaw Central added a touchdown in the fourth quarter on a one-yard run by Justin Craig Willis to make the final score 28-12.

Wayne County 35
Salmen (La.) 18
Wayne County quarterback Drexler Johnson threw two touchdowns in the second period and rushed for another in leading the War Eagles over Salmen 35-18.
The game was shown to a regional TV audience that spanned all the way to Lubbock, Texas as the Cox Sports Gulf South Game of the Week.
Wayne County improves to 6-0 overall and will travel to Northeast Lauderdale next week while Salmen drops to 3-3.
Salmen kicked two first period field goals and led WC 6-0 after one quarter of play. In the second period Johnson went to work as he hit Marquese Ray on 53- and 17-yard scoring strikes. Johnson then ran 14 yards for a score.
Both teams scored twice each in the final period. The Spartans cut the WC lead to 21-12 with 10 minutes to play when Ryan Sampson ran 47 yards for a
score.
Wayne then scored twice on a pair of Arthur Evertte runs of three and five
yards. Late in the final period Derrick Sander passed 28 yards to Lance Tillison
for the final Salmen score of the night.
Johnson passed for 211 yards as he hit on 14 of 26 passes.

Williams-Sullivan 8
The Wildcats rolled to a convincing 32-8 Division 5-2A road win over Williams-Sullivan to move to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in league play.
Kemper County plays host to non-league foe Nanih Waiya on Friday night.

Noxapater scored 27 points in the first quarter and added 13 points in the second quarter on its way to the win.
Desmond Graham opened the scoring with an 18-yard touchdown run and Greg Pittman hit the PAT to make the score 7-0. Graham added a 61-yard touchdown run to make the score 14-0.
Deangelo Carter hit Terrell Haynes for a 10-yard touchdown pass later in the first quarter to give Noxapater a 21-0 lead.
The final score of the first quarter came on a 45-yard pass from Carter to Janero Lynch.
Eric Hathorn scored on a 65-yard run in the second quarter and added a touchdown on a 19-yard run later in the quarter to make the score 40-0 at half.
Rufus Nunn scored on a two-yard run in the third quarter and Nathan Worthy added a 10-yard touchdown run in the third to make the final score 53-0.

Heidelberg 0
Homestanding Seminary scored all the points it needed in the first half, as
it downed Heidelberg 18-0 Friday night.
Tim Holloway scored on a 10-yard pass from Derrick Keys in the first
quarter, as the point-after attempt failed.
In the second quarter, Jerry Moore took off on a 36-yard interception return and Holloway capped the scoring with a 1-yard run.
The Oilers suffered nine turnovers, and running back Kendall Cooper had 66
yards on six carries. Tommy Thompson lead the Oilers with nine tackles and
Jimmy Jones had two interceptions.
Heidelberg is 3-3 overall and 0-1 in region play, and hosts
Enterprise (4-2, 1-0) next week.

Bailey 0
Louisville jumped all over Bailey and rolled to a 31-0 victory on Friday night.
Deon Hickman gave the Wildcats a 7-0 lead in the first quarter with an eight-yard touchdown run. Cornelius Colter hit the extra point for Louisville.
Stanley Frazier scored on a 14-yard run in the second quarter to stretch the lead to 13-0 and Jermaine Glass scored on an 87-yard fumble return to make the score 19-0 at half.
Louisville added 12 points in the third quarter to secure the victory.
Daniel Eichelberger scored on an 11-yard pass from Carey Miller to make the score 25-0 and Glass scored on a 35 yard interception return to make the final 31-0.
