PREP ROUNDUP: Yellow Jackets keep record unblemished

The No. 9-ranked Union Yellow Jackets remained unbeaten with a 47-20 victory over Pisgah on Friday night.
Anthony Johnson rushed for 163 yards on 19 carries and scored three rushing touchdowns in the win. He also added a touchdown on a kickoff return.
Johnson gave Union the lead with a five-yard run in the first quarter. Demond McDonald hit the PAT to make the score 7-0.
Pisgah answered with a 38-yard touchdown pass from Justin Powell to Justin Craig to cut the lead to 7-6.
The Yellow Jackets scored on a 62-yard pass from Jacob Casey to Jamell Blaylock and added another first quarter touchdown on a 10-yard run by Johnson.
Union continued the scoring in the second quarter as Casey ran for a 10-yard touchdown to make the score 28-6.
Pisgah scored on an 80-yard blocked field goal return by Phillip Smith to cut the lead to 28-12.
Johnson took the ensuing kickoff 73 yards for a Union touchdown. The Yellow Jackets scored another touchdown in the second quarter as Casey hit McDonald for a 76-yard touchdown pass.
Union added another touchdown as Johnson scored from 21 yards out in the third quarter to make the score 47-12.
Pisgah scored on a 45-yard run by Keith Ragsdale in the fourth quarter and added the two-point conversion to make the final score 47-20.
Casey finished the night 5-for-11 passing for 159 yards.
With the win, the Yellow Jackets improved to 6-0. Union will travel to play Sebastopol next week.
The loss drops Pisgah to 2-4 for the year.

Central Private 20
Lamar picked up a 50-20 victory over Central Private in Baker, La. on Friday night.
The Raiders improve to 3-3 for the year with the win and move to 2-1 in MPSA Class AAA play. Lamar will travel to take on Wayne Academy next week.
No other information about the victory was reported.

Sylva-Bay 18
The Newton County Academy Generals moved to 6-1 (4-0 in 3-A) on the season and clinched a spot in the MPSA Class A playoffs for the first time since 1996 with a 37-18 victory over 3-A rival Sylva-Bay.
The win avenges last season's stinging 38-20 loss to Sylva-Bay and sets up a 3-A championship game with Wayne Academy in Decatur on Oct. 15. Sylva-Bay falls to 3-4 on the season.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Generals got on the board as Dustin McGowin broke loose on a 78-yard touchdown run with 6:41 left in first half. Colby Bishop's PAT made it 7-0.
After recovering a fumbled punt attempt, Brad Harrison scored on a 3-yard run to give NCA a 14-0 lead. Sylva-Bay scored on a long pass on the ensuing drive and the Generals had a 14-6 lead at the half.
The Generals padded their lead in the third quarter as Bo Diveley scored on a 12-yard run and McGowin on a 7-yard run. Bishop made both PATs and the Generals led 28-6 at end of the third.
NCA added a safety and a 39-yard touchdown run by Lee Blackburn in the fourth for its final points. Sylva-Bay added two scoring passes for the final margin.
Lee Blackburn led the General offense with 109 yards rushing on 16 carries. McGowin had 92 yards on five carries with two touchdowns. Harrison had 68 yards on 19 carries.
The Generals will host Rebul Academy for homecoming next week.

Central Academy 18
Kyle Davis scored on a one-yard run with less than a minute left to play to give Kemper Academy a 24-18 win over visiting Central Academy.
Davis finished with 69 yards rushing on 13 carries and was 5-for-12 for 80 yards passing. He also had 1 tackles in the win.
Brandon Stokes had 82 yards rushing on 16 carries to lead the Rams to their first Division 5-A win over the season.
The Rams jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the second quarter on a 17-yard run by Dusty Rigdon.
Davis scored later in the second quarter on a one-yard run and Central Academy scored in the quarter to make the score 12-6 at half.
The Rams scored on a three-yard run by Stokes in the third quarter but Central Academy also had a touchdown to make the score 18-12 after the third quarter.
The visiting Vikings scored in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 18 but Davis scored in the final minutes to give KA the victory.
Craig Watson had two big catches for 35 yards in the win and Lake Mosley finished with 45 yards on 10 carries.
Stokes finished with 14 tackles on the night while Watson and Davis each had 10. Mosley finished with eight tackles.

South Choctaw Academy scored 41 points in the first half and cruised to a 48-7 win over Marengo Academy.
SCA scored on a five-yard run by Dusty Welford and Phillip Mosley hit the PAT to take a 7-0 lead.
Justin Mason scored on a 30-yard catch on a pass from Josh Adams to make the score 13-0.
SCA took a 21-0 lead at the end of the first quarter as Logan Johnson scored on a three-yard run and Adams carried in the PAT.
Johnson added another touchdown in the second quarter on a five-yard carry and Mosley hit the PAT to make the score 28-0.
A 48-yard punt return for a touchdown by Mason made the score 34-0 and a six-yard touchdown run by Quinton Roberts made the score 41-0 at half.
Marengo finally got on the board with a 24-yard touchdown pass from Trey Liles to Marle Jones in the fourth quarter.
SCA scored on an 85-yard kickoff return by Roberts and Steve Turner hit the extra point to make the final scored 48-6.
South Choctaw moves to 3-2 with the victory and will host Jackson Academy next week.
