Graveside services for Carolyn C. "Rene" Temple will be held today at 11 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Chris Winkleman officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Temple, 74, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004, in her home.
Survivors include her sons, Paul Robinson Jr. and his wife, Sandra, of Vicksburg and Andy Robinson and his wife, Cathy, of Meridian; grandchildren, Andy Robinson Jr. and his wife, Karen, and Aimee Boman and her fianc, Jeff Mercer, all of Meridian and Stacey Dunaway of Vicksburg; great-grandchildren, Peyton Robinson, Kendall Robinson, Clay Boman, Katie Boman and Kyle Boman, all of Meridian and Kristen Dunaway of Vicksburg; aunts, Bonnie Moore of Meridian and Bernice Garrison of Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Temple; her mother, Sue Garrison James; and an infant daughter, Susan Robinson.
Pallbearers will be Andy Robinson Jr., Jeff Mercer, Eulus Dyess, Jason Dyess, and Shaun Galyean.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jody Dyess, Gene Ray Moore, Kenny Moore, Gary Moore and Hospice South caregivers.
Retired forester
PHILADELPHIA Services for Jack Cumberland will be held today at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Beam officiating. Burial will be Coy Methodist Cemetery in Preston.
Mr. Cumberland, 84, of Philadelphia, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, at Riley Hospital in Meridian. He was a retired forester.
Survivors include his wife, Polly Luke Cumberland of Philadelphia; a son and daughter-in-law, Luke and Susan Cumberland of Meridian; two granddaughters, Annie Cumberland of Bay St. Louis and Sara Cumberland of Meridian; his extended family daughters, Beth Henson and Gail Cochran, both of Philadelphia; a sister, Doris Cumberland Clifton of Meridian; five brothers, Brantley Cumberland, Buford Cumberland, and Ravon Cumberland, all of Preston, Norman Cumberland and Sherlon Cumberland, both of Meridian; and several nieces and nephews.
He was a native of Neshoba County and a longtime resident of Philadelphia. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and he was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force serving in World War II. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
Visitation will be today from noon until service time at the funeral home.
Truck driver
PHILADELPHIA Services for Robert Earl Parker will be held today at 4 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Franklin Smith officiating. Burial will be in Indian Springs Cemetery in Winston County.
Mr. Parker, 65, of Carthage, died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004, at Hospice Ministries Inc. in Ridgeland. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Parker of Carthage; daughters, Rosemary E. McGaughrin and Allison D. Clark, both of Richland,and Shelley A. Daniels of Hattiesburg; a son, Robert G. Parker of Mobile, Ala.; step-daughters, Rachelle Parker of Mobile, and Melody Surber of Edinburg; a step-son, Spencer Fredrick of Carthage; his mother, Gladys Robbins of Philadelphia; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Hazel Collins of Noxapater, Brenda Gentry of Carrolton, Ala., Sandra Leach and Teresa Thrasher, both of Jackson; brothers, Dave Parker of Noxapater and Keith Parker of Philadelphia.
UNION Services for Kenneth V. Savell will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Milling Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jackie Strebeck officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Mr. Savell, 71, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004, in his home.
Survivors include three daughters, Katherine Addy of Union, Jean Ulmer of Rose Hill, and Sara A. Strebeck of Hickory; a son, Kenneth L. Savell of Decatur; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ivon Rhodes of Linwood, Evelyn Ferguson of Parkinston, and Joann White of Brookhaven; a brother, Jobie Savell of Decatur; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Savell.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Edna Clark Naylor will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jones officiating. Burial will be in Kemper Springs Cemetery. Latimer Metropolitan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Naylor, 81, of Meridian, died Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, at Riley Hospital.
Survivors include her sons, William Johnson and Frederick Johnson, both of Meridian; brothers, J.T. Clark and his wife, Miriam, of Meridian and Lewis Clark and his wife, Carol, of Canton; sisters, Ethel M. King of Chicago and Kathy Weddington and her husband, Archie, of Dallas; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Clark and Queen Ester Clark, both of Meridian.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman Clark and Dorthy Ruth Hinton.
Visitation will be today from 3 p.m.-7 p.m. and the family hour will be held from 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
