Tillman Jenkins, 69, of Clarke County is in "stable but critical" condition Thursday night after he was shot by a Clarke County sheriff's deputy at about 10 p.m. Tuesday.
Clarke County Sheriff Todd Kemp said Jenkins is still being treated at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Sheriff's deputy Barry White went to Jenkins' home Tuesday to serve him with a misdemeanor assault warrant. White shot Jenkins after Jenkins allegedly pulled a gun on the deputy.
Kemp said White, who was not injured, acted in self-defense.
The shooting is under investigation by the Clarke County Sheriff's Department and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.
